The Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF) is seeking an Intern for the 2010 Fall Semester (late August – early December) for approximately 20 hours per week. You will gain valuable real-world experience and develop contacts with industry leaders that could lead to a full-time career when you graduate.

We are seeking a sharp college student who is savvy with social media, has strong copy-writing skills and is a motivated team player. Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with event planning on programs such as:
o Tech Jam – large fund-raising event with a silent auction, battle of the bands and more.
o Industry Achievement Awards Gala – black-tie awards gala for over 500 people in the business and tech community.
o Numerous monthly educational programs, network events and more for the regional technology industry.

• Copy-writing for e-invitations, website content, press releases, promotional materials and more.

• Assisting with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.

• Assisting with marketing campaigns for TBTF programs and services.

Candidates must be a current student studying Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communications or a related field.

Hours:

If you are enthusiastic and excited to make a difference in teens and young adult’s lives by providing them with entertainment & life skills education to be successful, then this is the internship for you. iaam is looking for students who are committed and passionate about a career in the media/entertainment and journalism.
You should also be able to write quickly and clearly, without grammatical or spelling mistakes, on variety of topics that you yourself think up or have discovered through consuming media. This internship needs strong research skills and willingness to work independently after the tasks are mutually agreed upon.

Duties:

We want people to find more reasons to celebrate with each other throughout the year and whether those celebrations are for 2 people or for 200 people, we want to offer them the tools necessary to make it a little more special.

Our site offers expert tips and advice from celebrity caterers, party experts, bakers and party designers. And, come fall, will include planning tools, invitations and community areas and a web store.

This is a hands-on internship. No sitting around making copies and answering phones. We want creative, smart interns who are ready to learn every aspect of the online business while working for a great website in its early stages.
